Biography
Charlie is a London-based composer and orchestrator working in film, television, games and theatre. They hold an MA in Composing for Film, Television and Games from the National Film and Television School, and a first-class BA in Music from the University of Oxford.
Recent composing projects include the BAFTA Longlisted short Day Out, directed by Gouleilmos Dermon; Glen Fulthorpe’s documentary Hooked, which won the Documentary Short Grand Jury Prize at the Slamdance Film Festival and was shortlisted for a Grieson Award; Tushar Bhojwani's Roar of the Tiger, which was a semifinalist in the Student Oscars; and Tulou, a cosy, adventure RPG created by Martianwho Studios and set for release in 2026.
In addition to composing work, Charlie has worked as a composing assistant for Anne Nikitin on her scores for Hijack Season 2 (Apple TV) and Unchosen (Netflix). Charlie recently did additional orchestration for the feature film They Call Him Og, recorded at AIR Studios, and is currently working as a studio engineer for the British recording artist Plan B.
Charlie began their career composing for theatre and has composed, orchestrated and produced the music for two full-length musicals: Persephone, which was nominated for Broadway World's Best New Production of a Musical following its UK tour in 2022 and IrrePRESSible, which premiered in London before enjoying a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Charlie is currently working with the IrrePRESSible team to prepare for a London run in 2026.
Charlie is also an accomplished violinist and holds DipLCM, ATCL and LTCL diplomas in violin performance. They have played on a range of scores including the prize-winning documentary Birds of War, scored by Harpal Mudhar and Darren Sng; Paramount+’s series The Crow Girl, composed by Adam Price; and the ITV documentary, Brianna: A Mother's Story, composed by Mathilde Koechlin.
Charlie was recently awarded a place on the 2026 Prelude Composer Programme, in collaboration with the PRS Foundation and Amazon MGM Studios.
